WE interviewed fashion model Heidi Boyle, a former student of Elermore Vale Public School.

She was chosen to tour Egypt as part of the Great Australian Fashion Show.

The journey involved 16 models touring seven cities.

They performed seven fashion parades in front of the Egyptian president and government.

Ms Boyle told us it took 19 hours to travel to Egypt by plane.

She went with her mother and two friends from the same modelling agency.

They all travelled through different parts of Egypt together for about three weeks.

While it was hard for Heidi to speak to the people in Egypt, she felt safe because there were police escorts wherever they went. They also had an undercover policeman with a machine gun tucked beneath his jacket to protect them.

When in Cairo, Ms Boyle ate McDonald's, chocolate and spaghetti bolognaise.

Her days consisted of sight-seeing and photo shoots.

Her favourite outfit was a wedding dress with gold lace at the front, which she wore with a jewelled crown and white veil.

Ms Boyle hopes to continue modelling because she loves it as a hobby.
